Meet the Innkeeper
“Arrive as Guests. Leave as Friends.”– Sandra Mae Mellott, Innkeeper
Gracious Southern hospitality comes naturally to Sandra Mae.
Born in Decatur, Alabama, Sandra Mae spent most of her childhood in Florida and Kansas, exploring the natural beauty of rural America. She grew up appreciating the values of the small town life and the simple pleasures of old fashioned ways and family traditions. Sandra Mae loves to cook for her family and friends and is ready to practice her gardening skills to produce botanic delights for the eye and a bounty of goodness for the table.
Striking on her own, Sandra Mae answered the call of her wanderlust and joined the Navy where she served until 2014. After retiring, she and her husband Todd vowed to settle down and pursue their hobbies and favorite pastimes. Cooking and gardening for her and outdoor sports for Todd.
During their frequent visits with their daughter Kelsey at the University of Alabama, Sandra Mae found Tuscaloosa brought back memories of her youth in the South and the relaxing charms of small town living. Her Southern roots were calling her to return
About a year ago Sandra Mae found the Mistletoe Bough by chance and it called to her. “On my first visit, rounding the bend on Hillabee Street, and nestled amongst the Magnolia and Oak trees was the most delightful Victorian home I’d ever seen,” Sandra Mae remembers. “With its wraparound porch and rolling lawns, it simply radiated the genteel Antebellum charm you’ll find throughout the South, and especially here in Alexander City.”
“I fell in love with the Mistletoe Bough and the whole wonderful area. I was finally home again!”
Sandra Mae, Todd and their neighbors invite you to visit soon and see if the carefree days and gentle, warm nights at the ‘Bough don’t remind you of your favorite memories.
